Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar by his folk-inspired pop hits with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's state anthems have inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame states the fact that John Denver is unlike any other artist who embodies Colorado. Denver was the initial Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. He is now Colorado's international image. You meet people in other nations, for instance New Zealanders. They tell them "I come originally from Colorado" And they instantly reply by saying Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked in small Folk Music Groups. The song was composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version and knew the song would be an instant hit in the top 10. He recorded it within a couple of days of having performed in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
