John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk pop music inspired millions of people. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in the love of Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado have been a major influence on many to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was the very initial Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. Certainly in my travels you encounter someone on the other part of the globe, someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first thing that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time with small folk groups. The song was composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version of the song and realized the song would be one of the Top 10 hits. He recorded it a couple of days after having performed on stage in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
